As luck would have it …

A pal upgraded his Android game pad and gave me his superceded toy.

Turns out it’s a JXD S5110.  No bluetooth but has wifi and gamepad buttons so a wild addition as it can act as a remote console/controller talking to either the Gumstx Killer or any of the Android phones I am using as roving camera/brains.

Although, I guess the temptation will also be to use it for control of the AR-Drone (trawling Internet to find out to get access to the buttons).

POST SCRIPT

My order turned up and Hobbyking dropped the price of the module by $15 odd so I ordered another two (turns out they left a short track to ground off one of the SMD chips, can be fixed with fine soldering iron and electron microscope!).

The board is about twice the size of a Razor 9DOF AHRS.

Tiny but packed with 10DOF and the grunt you need for a full autopilot.
